曲面スクリーンへの投影補正：ImmersaView
これは知らなかった曲面補正/エッジブレンド補正ソフトウェア。これは自動補正のお話ですか!? と思いましたが、どうやら違う模様。インタラクティブに映像を歪ませて曲面にフィットできますよ、というソフトウェアですね。
動画を見る限り使いやすいインターフェースでサクサク調整できるので、平面スクリーンへの斜め打ちや円柱スクリーンなどには使えそう。でもスクリーン形状の推算をしていないので、ドームスクリーン等でのエッジブレンディングには相当苦労しそうです。
非平面形状スクリーンへの投影や複数プロジェクタによる投影合成で解決すべき問題をおおまかに分割すると、
- スクリーンの形状による歪み補正（ちょっと大変）
- 投影範囲の重なりのブレンディング（スクリーン形状によってはものすごく大変）
- アプリケーションへの補正の反映（コンテンツは画像？動画？自作アプリ？）
となります。このImmersaViewでは1.と2.を投影像を見ながら手動で調整するツールで、3.の対応についてはよくわかりません。おそらくは特定のアプリケーション、もしくは自作改造できる3Dアプリケーションに限る、という感じではないでしょうか。
当ORIHALCON Projectでも、1.と2.のパラメータ調整にProjection Designer、3.についてGLRCやOpenGL置換DLLなどを紹介・提供していますが、やはり実際にやってみると難しい課題であると実感されるかと思います。
1.と2.の完全自動調整から3.のコンテンツ表示まで、エンドユーザーでも扱えるトータルソリューション実現の「策」はあるので準備中です。わかる人には涙ものの「聖杯」なのですが...もう少々お待ちください。
